Talawade candle factory fire : DNA testing only means to know victim's identities

Pune: In a shocking fire break-out at candle making factory in Talawade, several workers were found to be dead. Now, already grief-stricken, the deceased’s family members have to conduct DNA test for identification.
As per further information, family member of one of the deceased received a call at approximately 3 pm regarding an explosion at the sparkling candle factory where his wife was employed. The husband, working as a fabricator, hurried to the factory in Talawade.
Then, he went to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital where the injured & dead were taken. His worst fear, that his wife might not be alive, came true as he looked through the bodies at the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital in Pimpri.
The husband said that his wife was a homemaker. As they had to conduct their son’s sacred thread ceremony, his wife considered taking a part-time job in the candle making factory to supplement the husband’s income. She was paid slightly more than Rs 200 per day as she wasn’t a regular worker at the factory. Now, it’s all over.
The husband & the family further felt that the tragedy was made worse as they had to wait for the body to be identified. They wouldn’t be allowed to take home the body of the deceased wife until the DNA samples matched.
On Friday afternoon, a massive fire erupted at a candle making factory in Talawade MIDC area due to which several female workers of the factory had been severely injured.
