Pune News : PMPML announce change in bus route on December 11. Check details

Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is gearing up to celebrate December 11 as Pedestrian Day (Walking Plaza) as the busy Laxmi Road (Umbrya Ganapati Chowk to Garud Ganapati Chowk) is set to transform into a vehicle-free zone from 10 am to 8 pm As a result, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd has changed the bus routes on Laxmi Road. As per further information from PMPML, the following changes are being made:

1) Bus routes 7 and 9 will remain closed.

2) Bus routes 55, 58, and 59 will continue to ply through Kumthekar Road on the regular route while coming towards Shanipar and Appa Balvant Chowk, Narayan Peth, Alka Talkies Chowk and onwards on the regular route while going from Shanipar.

3) Buses on Route 57, while going towards Pune Station, will go from Bus Route 94 via Narayan Peth to Alka Talkies Chowk and will further operate on the regular routes.

4) Buses on routes 81, 144, 144A, 144C and 283 will continue to ply on the regular route while going to Pune station and will ply via the PMC route while coming from Pune station.

5) Buses on route 174 will continue to ply from Pune Station to NDA on the regular route till Pune City Post and then turn left from Pune City Post Chowk to Swargate, Sarasbaug, Tilak Road, Deccan Corner and further on its regular route from NDA to Pune Station.

6) Buses on routes 197 and 202, from Hadapsar going to Kothrud Depot/Warje Malwadi, will run on regular route till Pune City Post and then turn left from Pune City Post Chowk to Swargate, Sarasbaug, Tilak Road, Deccan Corner and further on a regular route from Kothrud Depot/Warje Malwadi to Hadapsar.

7) Buses on Route 68 will continue to ply via the regular route going to Upper Depot and via Tilak Road while coming from Upper Depot to Sutardara.

After the end of ‘Walking Plaza’, buses on all the above routes will continue to ply on their regular routes.

For the convenience of citizens coming to the ‘Walking Plaza’, buses from Nagarkar Talim Chowk (N.M.V. Chowk)-Bajirao Road-Pune Municipal Corporation-Nagarkar Talim Chowk (N.M.V. Chowk) will run at a frequency of 30 mins. Buses from Swargate – Umbrya Ganpati Chowk – Swargate will run at a frequency of 40 mins. Buses from Deccan – Umbrya Ganpati Chowk – Deccan will run at a frequency of 30 mins. More frequent buses have been planned.

Also, for the convenience of citizens coming from Shivajinagar Civil Court Metro Station, buses on bus route 2, from Shivajinagar Railway Station to Swargate, will run via Civil Court Metro Station at a frequency of 4 mins.

Hence, the citizens are being urged to take advantage of the said buses.
