To curtail the infection spread, the Central government has asked state governments to start taking precautionary steps and increase the genome sequencing.

A task force or a special committee will be formed to monitor the changing Covid situation in the state, announced Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis after opposition party leader Ajit Pawar raised questions about the rising COVID cases in other countries in the winter session of the Maharashtra Legislative assembly.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “A task force or a special committee will be formed to study the changing patterns. The committee will advise the government, and the recommendations will be implemented.”

The number of COVID-19 cases in China and other countries is steadily increasing. To curtail the infection spread, the Central government has asked state governments to start taking precautionary steps and increase the genome sequencing.

India has sees multiple Covid waves since it first hit the country in March 2020.
