Tathawade Explosion Case : PCMC Fire brigade personnel applauded for exemplary work - pune pulse

PUNE: Shekhar Singh, Municipal Commissioner, PCMC has felicitated the fire brigade personnel for their excellent work in Tathawade explosion case.
It is worthy to note that on October 8, 2023, a significant fire incident occurred at approximately 11:10 pm which involved the illegal filling of a large LPG bullet tanker with gas into domestic and commercial gas cylinders leading to an explosion of 10 large gas cylinders.
This incident took place on the open ground adjacent to Blossom School in Tathawade. During the incident, three buses belonging to the school were set on fire, along with the destruction of an 18-cylinder and damage to a 21-tonne LPG bullet. The gas leakage was substantial, leading to continuous efforts by firefighters to prevent any potential explosions by using water to control the situation even after extinguishing the fire.
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), PMRDA, and MIDC fire brigade personnel promptly responded to the scene to extinguish the flames and bring the situation under control. Furthermore, on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Shekhar Singh, Commissioner, PCMC felicitated all the fire brigade personnel with bouquets of flowers.
