Tax evasion : IT raids on 30 premises of Kalpataru builders

Income Tax Department officials carried out searches on Friday at 30 locations belonging to the prominent Mumbai-based Kalpataru builders, citing suspicions of tax evasion. The searches were extensive, spanning across four states.

Reliable sources within the Income Tax Department have corroborated the reports of these searches taking place.

Among the locations subjected to these searches were the personal residences of Mofatraj Munot, the founder of Kalpataru Group, and Parag Munot, the Managing Director. Both of them were targeted in the investigation conducted by the tax authorities.
