Tayyabia orphanage in camp catches fire, 100 children rescued

Thanks to the efforts taken by the firefighters, the inmates between the age group of 6 and 16 were moved to safe spots away from the building and smoke. 

Pune: In a bizarre incident, Tayyabia orphanage in Camp caught fire in the midnight of December 26. Three fire vehicles immediately rushed to the spot as soon as the fire alarm buzzed.

Nilesh Mahajan, fIre brigade department’s public relations officer said the fire broke out on the ground floor of the four-storey building. “The fire was doused in 10 minutes as its flames had not reached other floors but the incident damaged the food grains and materials stored on the ground floor of the building. 

According to the primary information the official said that the fire was moderate and it may have been caused due to an electrical short circuit.
