Anand L. Rai’s intense romantic drama, a spiritual successor to Raanjhanaa, is set to stream online after a successful theatrical run.

After drawing strong audience response in theatres, Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, is ready for its much-anticipated OTT debut. The emotionally charged love story, which released in cinemas in November 2025, will begin streaming on Netflix from January 23, 2026, offering viewers a chance to experience the film from home.

Directed by Anand L. Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, Tere Ishk Mein is widely described as a thematic sequel to the 2013 cult film Raanjhanaa. While it does not continue the earlier story directly, it revisits similar emotional terrain—unrequited love, obsession, heartbreak, and the consequences of intense passion.

The film revolves around Shankar, played by Dhanush, a deeply emotional man who falls in love with Mukti, portrayed by Kriti Sanon. What begins as a passionate relationship soon turns complex and painful, shaped by ego clashes and emotional imbalance. As Shankar later joins the Indian Air Force, his unresolved past resurfaces, pulling him back into a spiral of love, regret, and emotional conflict. Set against evocative backdrops, including Banaras, the narrative blends romance with inner turmoil, staying true to Anand L. Rai’s signature storytelling style.

Tere Ishk Mein has a runtime of approximately 2 hours and 47 minutes, and its slow-burning narrative focuses heavily on character emotions rather than conventional romance tropes. The film explores themes of one-sided love, emotional dependence, and how unresolved feelings can shape life-altering decisions.

At the box office, the film performed strongly. Made on a reported budget of Rs 95 crore, it went on to collect over Rs 148 crore worldwide, marking it as a commercial success. Both Dhanush and Kriti Sanon received praise for their performances, with critics highlighting Dhanush’s intensity and Kriti’s emotionally layered portrayal. The supporting cast, including Prakash Raj, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Priyanshu Painuli, also added depth to the narrative.

Beyond its theatrical success, the film was showcased in the Gala Premiere section at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, further cementing its critical visibility.

For viewers who missed the theatrical release or those who want to revisit its emotionally stirring moments ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ arrives on Netflix later this month. With its blend of passion, heartbreak, and psychological depth, the film promises a moving watch for fans of intense romantic dramas.
