Thane Woman Drugged With Cake, Sexually Assaulted by Two Self-Proclaimed YouTubers; One Arrested, One on the Run
Deaf and Mute Woman Breaks 16-Year Silence, Exposes Serial Sexual Abuse and Blackmail in Mumbai
A disturbing case from Thane has resurfaced after a woman gathered the courage to step forward months after a traumatic assault. What began as a routine day for the survivor turned into a horrifying incident when she was allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted by two men who presented themselves as YouTube journalists.
According to police officials, the woman approached Thane Nagar Police Station on December 5 to file a complaint—nearly a year and a half after the alleged assault. She reportedly stayed silent all this time out of fear and shame, sharing the ordeal with no one, including her family.
Accused Identified; One Arrested, One Absconding
The two accused have been identified as Hiralal Kedar (55) and Ravi Pawar (40).
Kedar has been arrested.
Pawar is currently absconding.
Authorities confirmed that both men already have extortion-related cases registered against them.
As per the complaint, the incident occurred on 25 August last year within the premises of the Thane Family Court. The woman alleges that the accused offered her cake mixed with an intoxicating substance. After consuming it, she began feeling disoriented.
Taking advantage of her condition, the two men allegedly took her to a parked four-wheeler on the court premises, where they reportedly gang-raped her.
The survivor, who works at a massage centre and is married, stated that the men later attempted to blackmail her repeatedly to keep her silent.
The case finally reached the police after one of the accused allegedly resumed harassing her last month, demanding sexual favours again. Unable to tolerate the threats and pressure any longer, she decided to report the incident, despite the time that had passed.
A case of gang rape has been formally registered at Thane Nagar Police Station, and investigation efforts are ongoing to track down the absconding accused.
