Nobel laureate Richard Robert visits Savitribai Phule Pune University

Pune, D. 2- During my schooling, I loved to solve puzzles which has generated interested in mathematics. Richard Robert, a Nobel Prize winner in Medicine for the year 1993, narrated his journey and mentioned that I had produced good professors and students during his journey upto Nobel prize. Prof. Richard mentioned During his journey, he learned many things from various sources and kept himself busy in doing experiments.

Richard Robert visited Savitribai Phule Pune University. On this occasion, Prof. Karbhari Kale, Vice-Chancellor of the University, interacted with Prod Richardson. Prof Sanjeev Sonwane, Pro VC, Senior Scientist Shekhar Mande, Head of Chemistry Department Dr. Avinash Kumbhar, Director of Innovation Cell Dr. Sanjay Dhole and many professors were present on this occasion.

On this occasion, Richard Robert gave a lecture on the topic of ‘Nobel Prize’ at the National Cell Science Center of the University. His lecture was well attended by students. He also freely interacted with the students of the university’s chemistry department.

Speaking at the science center, Richard Robert gave information about his research on genes. That said, when you fail, nature wants to tell you something else. I also learned from this failure. Adoption of genetically modified crops (GMO) is a good thing for developing countries. Genetic variation occurs in every organism and crop. Having such a crop in a developing country is a welcome thing, it will help the country move forward.
