Married to his childhood sweetheart, Ayushmann admits their relationship has faced challenges, especially after fame came knocking.
In a recent interview, Ayushmann opened up about how success after Vicky Donor disrupted his personal life. “I started very young. Coming from a middle-class background, I felt I had to give 100% to my profession, and my personal life took a backseat. But striking a balance is important. I lost my mind after my first film,” he said on the Honestly Saying Podcast.
Fame also brought attention from fans, impacting their bond. “Tahira was my girlfriend during Pop Stars. People used to wonder what she saw in me. But I’ve evolved because of her. The right partner shapes you,” he shared.
Ayushmann reflected on his teenage fame, which strained their relationship. “At 16 or 17, I broke up with Tahira because I was getting attention from girls. I told her, ‘I want to live my life.’ But six months later, I realized I couldn’t be that person and went back to her.”
Tahira, known for her strength, said, “I was always strong-headed. We respect each other’s individuality, which is why we’ve lasted.”
The couple married in 2008 and have two children. Ayushmann credits Tahira for his transformation, saying, “If women are attracted to me now, it’s because of her. We don’t believe in materialism. Our friendship is our foundation.”
While Ayushmann excels in acting and music, Tahira has carved her path as an author and filmmaker. Their journey continues to inspire many.
