This year's Vibrant Gujarat summit is predicted to break records; PM Modi to inaugurate
It is anticipated that the forthcoming Vibrant Gujarat summit, which starts this Wednesday, will surpass its 2019 record of 28,360 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signatures.
After pandemic restrictions forced the cancellation of the 2021 edition, the event represents a major comeback for the state.
The summit will be opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. He will visit Gujarat from Monday through January 10.
Prominent business figures including ArcelorMittal’s Lakshmi Mittal, Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Vedanta Group’s Anil Agarwal, Uday Kotak, and PhonePe’s Sameer Nigam will be featured in this edition.
In 2015, there were 21,304 Memorandums of Understanding; in 2017, there were 24,774 agreements, of which about 70% were realized. Ninety percent of the Memorandums of Understanding this year will be fulfilled, according to officials.
In addition, after PM Modi’s visit to the COP28 conference in Dubai in December, it is anticipated that the summit would deepen relations between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). On January 9, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, will be the chief guest at the Vibrant Gujarat summit.
The summit, which will focus on cutting-edge technology, will examine industries like semiconductors, green hydrogen, e-mobility, and space manufacturing. This year’s Vibrant Gujarat is expected to break records with over 100,000 registrations, a notable increase from 48,000 in 2019, and 32 partner countries compared to 15 in 2019.
