Pune’s traffic police have announced changes to major city routes on Tuesday for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally at SP College Ground, in support of BJP and its allies for the upcoming assembly elections. The police have also issued a ban on heavy vehicles on 13 main roads to prevent congestion.

Traffic adjustments will be made for the movement of the Prime Minister’s convoy. Here are some key changes:

Kelkar Road: One-way traffic will operate from Tilak Chowk to Bhide Bridge Junction. Drivers can use an alternate route by turning left at Z Bridge and then right at Bhide Bridge Junction.

Garud Ganpati Chowk: Access from Garud Ganpati Chowk to Bhide Bridge Chowk will be restricted. Vehicles should turn left at Garud Ganpati Chowk and take a U-turn at Tilak Chowk.

Deccan to Kelkar Road: Direct entry onto Kelkar Road from Deccan via Bhide Bridge will be restricted. Vehicles can use Riverside Road as an alternative route.

NS Phadke Chowk: Entry from NS Phadke Chowk to Nath Pai Chowk will be closed. Drivers can use Nilayam Bridge and Sinhagad Road as an alternate route.

Ambil Odha Junction: Entry via Babura Ghule Road will be closed, with an alternative route available via Joggers Park Road and Shastri Road.

In addition, heavy vehicles will be restricted on key roads including Solapur Road, Ahmednagar Road, Alandi Road, Old Pune Mumbai Highway, Aundh Road, Baner Road, Pashan Road, Paud Road, Karve Road, Sinhagad Road, Satara Road, Saswad Road, and Lohegaon Road.

These changes aim to streamline traffic flow and ensure minimal disruption during the Prime Minister’s visit.
