Traffic diversions issued for Jan 1 event to commemorate Koregaon Bhima battle

Pune – Ahmednagar highway to remain closed from 31 December , 5 PM to January 1, 2023.

Pune: District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh has ordered closure of Pune-Ahmednagar Highway No. 60 from 5 pm on 31 December 2022 to 12 am on 1 January 2023 and diversion of traffic in view of the programme organised to commemorate Koregaon Bhima battle on January 1, 2023 at Mauje Perne Phata in Haveli taluka to avoid traffic congestion. 

Meanwhile, all traffic going to and from Shikrapur to Chakan will be completely stopped. Heavy vehicles coming from Ahmednagar towards Pune, Mumbai will reach Pune via Shirur, Nhawara Phata, Nhawara, Pargaon, Chaufula, Yawat, Solapur Road. 

Heavy vehicles going from Pune to Ahmednagar will take Pune-Solapur highway via Chauphula, Kedgaon, Nhavra, Shirur, Ahmednagar road.

Heavy vehicles, goods traffic (Truck/Tempo) going to Ahmednagar from Mumbai will go to Ahmednagar via Vadgaon Maval, Chakan, Khed, Manchar, Narayangaon, Alephata. Also, light vehicles such as cars, jeeps etc will go to Ahmednagar via Vadgaon Maval, Chakan, Khed, Pabal, Shirur.

Collector Deshmukh appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the administration by using this alternative route during the programme.
