Keeping in mind the fear of spread of Covid19, Pune district administration has advised to keep the New Year eve celebrations a low key affair. To add on to the prohibitions, Pune City Traffic Police had curbed entries of vehicles on several roads in Pune. The orders were issued by Rahul Shrirame, deputy commissioner of Police, Traffic, Pune.
Several citizens come to seek blessings of Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Temple on Shivaji road near Shaniwarwada on January 1 and also gather on Mahatma Gandhi road in Camp on December 31, vehicle entry shall remain prohibited and diversions of traffic shall be done accordingly.
1. Pune Camp – December 31, 2020, 5 pm onwards
Y junction – M G road to 15 August chowk via Kureshi masjid – Sujata mastani chowk
Iskcon temple chowk to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar statue, Arora tower chowk road shall remain closed
Volga chowk to Mohammad rafi chowk road shall remain closed and traffic shall be diverted to East Street road to Indira Gandhi chowk
Indira Gandhi chowk to Mahavir chowk road shall remain closed and diverted to Indira Gandhi chowk to Lashkar police chowky
Sarbatwala chowk to Mahavir chowk road shall remain closed and diverted through Taboot street
2. From January 1, 2021, 7 am onwards four wheelers and all types of buses shall be prohibited for commuting on Shivaji road. Commuters should use alternate roads.
1. Road from S G Barve chowk to Swargate shall remain closed. Vehicles shall use S G barve chowk to J M road via Khandoji Baba chowk to Tilak chowk to Tilak road
2. S G Barve chowk to PMC shall be diverted via S G Barve chowk to Jhansi Rani chowk to PMC building
