Tragedy in Pune: Woman IT Engineer Fatally Shot by Boyfriend in Hinjawadi
Pune Crime: Gunshots fired in Katraj amidst cricket dispute; marking the third such incident in a week
Pune, 28th January 2024: In a shocking turn of events, the bustling IT hub of Hinjewadi in Pimpri-Chinchwad was rocked by a tragic incident as a woman IT engineer lost her life to a fatal gunshot allegedly fired by her boyfriend. The lifeless body of the victim was discovered in Oyo Hotel located in Hinjawadi, Pune, sending shockwaves throughout the community.
According to the police, Rishabh Nigam is identified as Vandana’s boyfriend. Vandana was employed as a software engineer at Infosys. Originally hailing from Lucknow, Rishabh relocated to Pune. On Saturday night, Vandana and Rishabh were out together until late hours. They halted at Lakshmi Chowk in Hinjawadi as dawn approached, during which an altercation ensued between them. In a fit of rage, Rishabh discharged his pistol. Subsequently, Rishabh fled the scene. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police promptly arrived, but Vandana died.
The Hinjawadi Police have dispatched a team to Mumbai to bring Rishabh into custody, and it is expected that further details will emerge from his interrogation.
The incident has left residents of Pune reeling, emphasizing the need for heightened awareness regarding the complexities of relationships and the importance of addressing conflicts through peaceful means.
