A bus from Bihar to Delhi collided with a milk tanker, resulting in 18 deaths and multiple injuries on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Unnao.
At least 18 people lost their lives and over 15 injured, when a sleeper bus rammed into a milk tanker on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao district on Wednesday morning. The tragic accident occurred near Gadha village as the bus, traveling from Bihar to Delhi, collided with the tanker while attempting to overtake it, causing the bus to overturn.
According to officials, the bus was primarily carrying migrant workers. The injured individuals have been rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment, with three reported to be in critical condition. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
Local authorities have launched a rescue operation, and further details are awaited.
In another incident, at least 40 people, including several school children, were injured after a bus overturned in Haryana’s Panchkula district on Monday morning. The accident took place near Naulata village in Pinjore town. Police attribute the crash to overspeeding by the bus driver, along with overloading and poor road conditions.
