A religious program was organized on Tuesday on the occasion of Ekadashi in Somthana village of Lonar taluka of Buldhana district. After the program, bhagar and amti were served to all the devotees. However, after eating bhagar and amti, almost everyone in the village started suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea. 

Approximately 450 to 500 people have been poisoned by this food, all of them are undergoing treatment in government hospitals at Bibi, Lonar, Mehkar, Sindkhed Raja. The sudden poisoning of such a large number of people has created a stir.

These patients were admitted to all the health centers in the area. A team of doctors was called from Buldhana as the places and doctors in the hospital were running out. Interestingly, as there were no beds available in the hospital, many people were treated outside the hospital on the floor. Shockingly, patients could not get treatment in time due to absence of doctors in many primary health centers. As a result, the condition of some patients became serious. Due to this, there was anger among the villagers.

Around 500 people were poisoned after eating bhagar and amti in a religious event. Many started suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea. Due to such a large amount of poisoning at once, the village was in a frenzy. Many women started crying. Some were in serious condition and needed immediate treatment.

Therefore, the patients were taken to the hospital by the available vehicles. There was confusion in the village. Interestingly, many elderly people also began to suffer, which increased the anxiety. Therefore, patients were admitted to all the hospitals in the area. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
