Train Accident in Jamtara, Jharkhand Leaves 2 Dead, Several Injured

“At least two people died when a train hit passengers who were trying to escape what they thought was a fire on an express train at Kalajharia railway station in Jharkhand’s Jamtara.

Passengers on the Anga Express from Bhagalpur to Bengaluru got off the train when they heard rumours about a fire. They tried to cross the tracks to get away from the supposed fire, but another train coming on the tracks hit them.

Rescue teams are working to help the injured. The Deputy Commissioner of Jamtara said medical teams, four ambulances, and three buses have been sent to bring the injured to Jamtara.

The accident happened about 15 kilometers away from the main district area.
