Tulsi Pujan Diwas 2025: Worship Rituals That Bring Peace, Positivity, and Prosperity Into Your Home
Tulsi Pujan Diwas is a spiritually meaningful occasion in Hindu tradition, dedicated to the sacred Tulsi plant, also known as holy basil. Revered not just as a plant but as a divine presence, Tulsi is worshipped with the same devotion offered to deities. Today, as we celebrate Tulsi Pujan Diwas, the day is especially auspicious, honoring the sacred bond between Tulsi and Lord Vishnu, making the observance deeply significant.
On this special day, devotees are encouraged to begin their morning with a bath and choose yellow attire, as the color is linked with prosperity and Vishnu worship. After this, the Tulsi plant should be worshipped with devotion. Walking around the plant (parikrama) three or seven times is considered highly beneficial. This simple yet powerful practice is believed to bring the combined blessings of Goddess Tulsi and Lord Vishnu, helping attract happiness, harmony, and abundance into one’s life.
Protection from Negative Energies
A significant ritual associated with Tulsi Pujan Diwas is lighting a lamp after sunset. A diya filled with cow ghee should be placed near the Tulsi plant in the evening. According to belief, this act helps drive away negative energies from the household and ensures a steady flow of positivity and peace within the home environment.
Important Guidelines to Follow on Tulsi Pujan Day
To ensure that the worship yields positive and auspicious results, certain traditional guidelines should be followed carefully:
1. The Tulsi plant should not be touched without taking a bath.
2. Water should never be offered to Tulsi after sunset.
3. Offering water to Tulsi is avoided on Sundays, on Amavasya (new moon days), and on Ekadashi.
Following these rules is believed to preserve the sanctity of the worship and maintain spiritual discipline.
Sacred Tulsi Mantras
Chanting mantras during Tulsi worship enhances its spiritual impact. The following mantras are commonly recited on Tulsi Pujan Diwas:
1. “Om Tulsiyai Namah”
2. “Mahaprasad Janani Sarva Saubhagyavardhini,
Aadhi Vyadhi Hara Nityam Tulasi Tvam Namostute.”
3. Tulsi Gayatri Mantra:
“Om Tulsīdevāya Cha Vidmahe,
Vishnupriyāyai Cha Dhīmahi,
Tanno Vrindā Prachodayāt.”
These mantras are believed to purify the mind, body, and surroundings while invoking divine blessings.
