Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has lauded the 2025-26 Union Budget, highlighting its potential to significantly benefit Maharashtra, especially its thriving startup ecosystem. He emphasized that the enhanced loan limit of up to Rs 20 crore for startups will greatly support the state, which boasts the highest number of startups in India.
Fadnavis also pointed out that special incentives for 100 districts, increased support for oilseed production, and 100% procurement policies will provide substantial benefits to farmers across Maharashtra.

Preliminary budget allocations include Rs 683 crore for improving connectivity, Rs 100 crore for agro-business development, Rs 1,094 crore for economic clusters, and Rs 186 crore for irrigation projects. Fadnavis noted that a detailed review would be necessary to assess the total allocation for the state.
He further welcomed the income tax exemption for earnings up to Rs 12 lakh, describing it as a major relief for the middle class. Additionally, he praised the provision of interest-free loans to states for up to 50 years, which will accelerate Maharashtra’s numerous mega infrastructure projects.
Calling the budget a “giant step towards Viksit Bharat,” Fadnavis said it addresses the needs of the middle class, farmers, youth, and laborers, and will strengthen the nation’s economy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
