Vinayak Nimhan Gaurav Scholarship To Be Awarded On 26 October at Balgandharva Rangmandir
On October 26th, at the Balgandharva Rangmandir, the Someshwar Foundation will commemorate the first Memorial Day of the late former Kaarya Samrat MLA, Vinayak Nimhan, by distributing ‘Gaurav Scholarships.’ These scholarships will be awarded to deserving and underprivileged students whose parents face financial hardship, ensuring that their educational dreams are not derailed.
Distinguished individuals who will be presenting the scholarships include Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, Founder President of Symbiosis Institute; Dr. Suresh Gosavi, Vice-Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University; Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar; Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar; Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Girish Mahajan; and Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil.
The event will also be attended by notable figures such as Shiv Sena Pune District Liaison Chief Sachin Ahir, MLAs Prasad Lad, Siddharth Shirole, Atul Benke, Satyajit Tambe, Former Mayor Muralidhar Mohol, BJP City President Dheeraj Ghate, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar, and others.
The ‘Gaurav Scholarships’ are designed to encourage students who participated in scholarship examinations in Class V and VIII but fell short of qualifying. Additionally, meritorious students pursuing degrees and diplomas have been selected based on financial need, academic merit, and interviews.
This initiative, named after the late Vinayak Nimhan, who dedicated his life to improving healthcare and education for the common people, continues the legacy of the Someshwar Foundation. For 25 years, the foundation has supported students through various programs, including lectures, student felicitation ceremonies, and the distribution of school materials.
Sunny Nimhan, former corporator and the convenor of the ‘Vinayaki’ Vinayak Nimhan Scholarship, provided this information, emphasizing the enduring commitment to empowering students in Pune.
