As the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 10 board results for 2025, with a remarkable pass percentage of 96.3%, an old piece of academic history grabbed social media’s attention, cricketer Virat Kohli’s Class 10 marksheet.

Posted on X by IAS officer Jitin Yadav, Kohli’s marksheet became a viral sensation, sparking conversations about success, effort, and the real meaning of academic grades. In his post, Yadav remarked, “Had marks been the sole factor, the entire nation wouldn’t be rallying behind him now. Passion and dedication are the key.”
The marksheet reflects Kohli’s consistent performance across subjects, with standout scores in English (83 marks, A1 grade) and Social Science (81 marks, A2 grade). He received a B1 in Hindi, while his lowest grades were in Science (C1) and Introductory IT (C2). While the numbers may not be extraordinary, many online appreciated the effort and saw the document as a reminder that exam marks do not define a person’s potential.
