Wakad flyer complaints about theft of gold ornaments during London – Mumbai flight
A London-based techie & resident of Wakad has filed a theft report with the Wakad police station, claiming that during his trip from London to Mumbai, 15 tolas of gold ornaments valued at ₹7.60 lakh were taken from his luggage.
After taking a flight from London, the complainant arrived in Mumbai. He then filed a complaint with the Wakad police. In line with his account, the theft happened while he was traveling.
The complainant received his bags within the next two to three days, as per the police report.
But when he was going through the luggage, he discovered missing valuables worth ₹7,60,000, including gold ornaments. He went up to the flight attendant to retrieve his belongings.
According to the police, after the stop at Jeddah, the complainant claimed to have luggage that was not on board. Therefore, there’s a chance that valuables could be taken in Jeddah. An investigative team will be dispatched to the Mumbai airport. The victim first made several trips to the Mumbai airport and contacted the appropriate airlines. He also double-checked CCTV footage of baggage being loaded and unloaded at the airport, but he discovered nothing. Finally, on Monday, before leaving for London, he lodged a complaint with the Wakad police.
The Wakad police station filed a case under Section 379 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code on January 1, 2024.
