PUNE: An incident occurred when the wall collapsed as a result of substandard construction executed by a private builder in close proximity to the B3 wing of the Tanish Sanskriti building, situated opposite Panchsheel Budh Vihar on Bhosari Dighi Road on 29th September, around 6 pm.

As per the information provided, the incident involved the collapse of a 15-meter compound wall, which is currently leaning towards the east and west by 5 meters each. This collapse can be attributed to the poor construction carried out by the builder, alleged residents. Despite repeated warnings to the builder regarding the potential for such incidents, they failed to address the matter seriously. As a result, the residents of Tanish Sanskriti have filed claims in both the Consumer Court and Civil Court regarding the construction of these buildings. The case is currently pending adjudication.

Furthermore, due to incomplete documentation, the building is in the possession of the builder. Fortunately, no causalities were reported in this incident. However, seven puppies were trapped and experienced distress due to the noise. The residents made valiant efforts to save four out of the seven puppies, while the remaining three could not be saved.

While talking to Pune Pulse, Nirutti Pawar, Resident, added, ”After learning about the incident, we immediately removed the four-wheelers in the vicinity of the wall. Urgent actions were taken so that citizens would stay away from the wall and the MSEB pole. A few puppies were stuck under the mound. We rescued a few, but unfortunately, some of them died.”

Another resident, Pradip Mali, added, ”After the wall collapsed, we immediately made sure that small kids stayed away from the wall, and wiring was removed from the electricity pole there to avoid electrocution. Responsible builder and associate be held accountable, and appropriate legal measures be taken by the relevant authorities.”
