Wardens Accused of Taking ₹500 Bribe from Bus Driver on Mumbai–Pune Expressway; Citizens Assault Warden
Pimpri-Chinchwad, August 12, 2025: A traffic warden on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway has been accused of accepting ₹500 from a bus driver allegedly on the instructions of a traffic police officer. The incident took place this afternoon at Urse Toll Plaza, a busy point on the expressway.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing angry citizens assaulting the warden. In the footage, the warden can be seen taking money from the bus driver, and a traffic police officer’s name is also mentioned.

Police Deputy Commissioner of Traffic, Vivek Patil, has ordered an inquiry into the matter. Both the traffic police officer and the warden involved are being investigated, with action expected to be taken by late tonight.
The incident has once again embarrassed the traffic department, and citizens have demanded strict action against the accused traffic police officer and the warden.
