“Every time at Silver Skyscapes we have to remove this type of waste from the water meter filter from PCMC water supply whenever the pressure is low. This is really shocking to see such waste coming from PCMC water through pipeline. Whenever we get low water pressure, we have to clean the inlet of water meter, and we are finding waste in it. It seems the developmental work is causing all this,” said Tushar Siddam, chairman Silver Skyscape society.

“We are also facing this issue. Whenever we clean the meter we find such plastic remnants in the line. This proves how healthy water we are drinking. This is possible only if that PCMC water get mixed somewhere that’s why this waste gets added. People are blindly drinking the water coming from corporation considering its safe, this is risking our lives,” said Pravin Farad, secretary, Elementa Phase 1 Society.

“From many days we were facing low water pressure, we complained to pcmc, and they visited us and asked us to clean the pipeline and we found the polythene waste and also broken pieces of pipes,” said Tushar Kakade, Committee Member, Shiv Darshan, Choudhary Park, Wakad.

“Whenever we find any pipeline is broken, we have to do patch work over there and this might be causing these cases that people are finding the waste in water pipeline. For the past few months various development works are going on across PCMC,” said Manoj Borse, Deputy Engineer, water department PCMC.
