In a high-scoring encounter between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the iconic Eden Gardens stadium, KKR posted a formidable total of 261 runs on Thursday. 

The match witnessed stellar performances from several KKR batsmen, notably Sunil Narine and Phil Salt, who provided a blazing start to the innings. The momentum was carried forward by Venkatesh Iyer, Andre Russell, and skipper Shreyas Iyer, who played quickfire innings.

Shreyas Iyer, in particular, showcased sublime form, dispatching the PBKS bowlers to all corners of the ground. With 28 runs off just 10 balls at a striking rate of 280, he appeared set for a substantial score until his dismissal by PBKS’ Arshdeep Singh. 

While Kolkata fans are accustomed to witnessing team owner Shah Rukh Khan’s passionate support from the stands, it was his son Abram Khan who stole the spotlight on Thursday.
