Internet crowns the loyal canine a Hanuman devotee after his spirited reaction to the devotional hymn.

Social media users are melting over a heartwarming and hilarious video featuring a German Shepherd named Ragnar, who appears to be deeply moved by the devotional Hanuman Chalisa. The video, posted by his owner Shiv Shankar on Instagram, has quickly gone viral, earning over 2 million likes and turning Ragnar into what many are calling a true “Hanuman bhakt.”

The video starts off innocuously, with Ragnar lying flat on the floor beneath a TV. His owner plays several songs to gauge his reaction. First came Lutt Putt Gaya from Shah Rukh Khan’s movie Dunki, followed by Kailash Kher’s intense bhajan Bam Lahari but Ragnar barely blinked.

Then came the Hanuman Chalisa.

As soon as the iconic chant began playing, Ragnar’s demeanor shifted dramatically. He lifted his head, perked up his ears, and began howling along almost in perfect rhythm, as though trying to match the tune with devotional sincerity. Moments later, he sat up and appeared fully immersed, his expression both intense and endearing.

Viewers were stunned and delighted.

“He has some special connection… You can find it with a telepathic communicator,” one user commented.
“Your dog is a devotee! He’s really trying to sync — it’s so honest and beautiful,” wrote another.
“Proof that rebirth is real — maybe he was a Hanuman devotee in his past life,” a fan joked.

Others couldn’t resist adding humor:

“My dog is broken. He reacts the same way to the kachra gadi song,” quipped one commenter.
“Ram Lakshman Janki Jai bolo Hanuman ki… Jai Shree Ram! This dog is truly one of us,” added another.

The clip continues to be widely shared across platforms, proving once again that animals — especially dogs — have a way of surprising and delighting us with their innocence and unexpected bonds.

Whether you call it divine devotion or adorable coincidence, one thing is clear: Ragnar the singing shepherd has become an internet legend.
