Weather Alert For January 6: Cold Wave Eases in Maharashtra, IMD Warns of New Weather Changes
The intensity of cold weather across Maharashtra has eased in recent days, but the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert regarding changing weather conditions across the state. Due to persistent cloudy skies, several regions are experiencing early morning fog and dew formation.
Currently, minimum temperatures in most parts of Maharashtra have risen above 12 degrees Celsius. With the flow of cold northerly winds weakening, noticeable changes are being observed in the state’s weather pattern. Over the past few days, cloud cover has increased, directly impacting minimum temperatures. As a result, the chill has reduced in many areas, though foggy conditions during early hours continue to be a concern.
Weather Forecast for January 6
- Konkan Region: Cloudy conditions are likely to persist. In Mumbai, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 30°C, while the minimum may remain near 18°C. Morning fog is possible, followed by partly cloudy skies during the day.
- Western Maharashtra: The cold intensity has reduced. Pune is likely to record a maximum temperature of around 30°C and a minimum of 15°C. Morning fog in Pune and surrounding areas may affect visibility, and residents are advised to remain cautious. Similar conditions are expected across other districts of Western Maharashtra.
- Marathwada: The weather will remain mostly clear. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 30°C and a minimum of 13°C. With rising minimum temperatures, the cold impact will be less noticeable across the region.
- North Maharashtra: The cold spell has weakened here as well. Nashik is likely to see a maximum temperature of 30°C and a minimum of around 11°C. A mild chill may be felt in the early morning, while skies are expected to remain clear during the day.
- Vidarbha: Morning fog may be observed in some areas. Nagpur is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 27°C and a minimum of 13°C. Foggy conditions in the morning may give way to clear skies later.
Overall, while minimum temperatures have increased across Maharashtra, winter conditions have not completely disappeared. Early morning and late-night chill is expected to continue. Due to temperature fluctuations, health-related issues may rise, and citizens are advised to take necessary precautions.
