Pune: It has not rained in Pune and many other parts of Maharashtra since the first week of August and there’s not much chance of good rain in the state in the next couple of days. But there is some news to cheer as the city may experience light rainfall.

Right now, depending on the weather conditions in the area, the state may get light to moderate rain in the next 24-48 hours in isolated parts.

As per information, Pune City is under a yellow rainfall alert for the next 24 hours. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune, light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur in isolated places in 11 districts of Central Maharashtra and 1 district of Marathwada on August 30.

These 11 districts are Pune District, Satara District, Sangli District, Raigad District, Ratnagiri District, Ahmednagar District, Beed District, Solapur District, Osmanabad District, Latur District and Nanded District.

The possibility of revival of monsoon for approximately 10 days beginning on September 4 is mostly there. The Kerala coast and Karnataka, as well as the eastern regions of central India, are expected to receive above-average rainfall, while the rest of India is expected to receive below-average rainfall. However, it is uncertain to what extent the rainfall deficit will be alleviated.
