Pune: The weather department, Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning for a Western Disturbance approaching from Afghanistan, along with an upper air cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan. The combination of these weather systems is likely to result in isolated rainfall over a few northern districts of Madhya Maharashtra and over Vidarbha on March 30 and 31.

A trough or wind discontinuity line runs from central parts of north Madhya Pradesh to south Tamil Nadu. This weather system is expected to bring partly cloudy conditions to Pune district/city during the next 48 hours, especially during the afternoon hours. However, the chance of rain is less, and the city is likely to experience only sporadic rainfall.

The weather department has advised residents to stay updated with the latest weather reports and to take necessary precautions during this time. The Maharashtra State Disaster Management Authority has also issued an advisory to all district administrations to be prepared for any eventuality.

The approaching Western Disturbance is expected to bring relief to the state, which has been reeling under a heatwave for the past few days. The rainfall is expected to provide some respite to farmers who have been struggling with a shortage of water for their crops.

The minimum temperature in Pune district on March 30 was between 13 to 20 degree celsius.
