Woman constable suspended for assaulting woman dog feeder

PUNE: The woman police constable responsible for assaulting a woman who feeds community dogs in Dhayari has received a suspension order from Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohidas Pawar. The constable was stationed at the Shivajinagar police headquarters.

As per the information provided, an inquiry has been launched into the conduct of the constable, ensuring appropriate action will be taken. The next step involves a comprehensive review by higher police authorities, followed by a thorough investigation.

Following this investigation, appropriate disciplinary measures will be determined for the constable. The assault, which was captured in a widely circulated video on social media, shows the constable using a chokehold on the victim and disposing of the food intended for the community dogs. The victim’s medical report, conducted at a civil hospital, revealed injuries including neck contusions, signs of strangulation, and nasal bleeding.
