The shocking incident occurred when a woman fell into an uncovered drain during Rupesh Thorat’s campaign rally in Ambernath; CCTV footage captures the moment, sparking calls for improved safety measures.  

During an election campaign rally in Ambernath, a woman fell directly into an open sewer, leading to widespread concern over local safety conditions. CCTV footage of the incident, which happened in the B Cabin area of Ambernath East’s Ambedkar Nagar, has since gone viral. The accident took place while Rupesh Thorat, a candidate from the Rashtriya Samaj Party, was campaigning. The drain was missing its cover, and as a result, the woman fell in but was quickly helped out by bystanders. Fortunately, she was not seriously injured.

The incident has sparked public outcry, with residents and campaigners urging the Ambernath Municipality to ensure drains are covered and properly maintained for the safety of residents and visitors. Meanwhile, Balaji Kinikar, the current MLA, continues his campaign efforts in Ambernath, where this year’s assembly elections are expected to be hotly contested.
