A woman in Bengaluru was caught working on her laptop while driving through heavy traffic, resulting in a fine of ₹1,000 for reckless driving. The incident came to light after a fellow motorist recorded a video of her dangerous multitasking, which quickly went viral on social media.

In a city known for its traffic congestion, this act of combining work and driving sparked widespread concern. Bengaluru police traced the woman using the car’s registration details and issued her a notice to appear at the police station. The woman, who works for a private firm in BTM Layout, explained that she had turned on her laptop as her login time was approaching while she was driving home to RT Nagar.

“Work from home, not from your car,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-Traffic) Sirigowri DR cautioned on X.

The video triggered an online debate about work-life balance and the pressures of modern work culture. While many condemned the woman’s actions as irresponsible, some questioned whether her employer should be held accountable for encouraging such unsafe behavior.

Police reminded commuters that safety should never be compromised for work deadlines and urged everyone to avoid multitasking while driving to prevent potential accidents.
