Youngster attacks jeweller over allegations of theft against mother
A 22-year-old man was taken into custody by the Lashkar police on Sunday afternoon on suspicion of attacking a jeweller on Saturday night around 9:15 pm in Camp with a sharp weapon. Â
CCTV footage of the incident, which happened close to the victim’s jewelry store, was recorded. The friend of the attacker, who assisted him in escaping, is also being sought after by the police.
According to a senior police official, the victim had head and hand injuries. After being brought to a private hospital on Bund Garden Road, medical professionals declared him to be out of danger. After the victim’s brother filed a complaint, the two have been charged with attempted murder.
The police official added that the mother of the attacker had visited the victim’s jewelry store around three months ago. At that time, a valuable item was stolen, and the victim accused the woman of being the one who took it. He also brought her to the Lashkar police station, but after no evidence was found on her, she was released. The victim’s son had resentment towards the victim for causing his mother stress and mental suffering. Helped by his friend, he planned the attack.
The victim, according to a second police officer, had closed his store and was making his way home on foot. When the two men arrived, they attacked the victim. CCTV footage of the entire incident has been captured.
