22 year old cyclist is pedalling to spread awareness on water and environment conservation

Yavatmal based Pranali Chikte, a 22 year old cycle enthusiast is on a mission to spread awareness on water conservation, women empowerment.

She began her cycle rally from Yavatmal and reached Pune today. She spoke at length with the media persons about her journey. 
A native of Punwat village she has taken up the challenge to spread awareness on water and environment conservation and women empowerment. She is on a cycle drive across Maharashtra to educate people about the need to care for the environment.

She completed the feat of covering a distance of 10,000 kms on cycle. She draws inspiration from Dr Rajendra Singh (water expert), Nature enthusiast Dilip Kulkarni and state water conservation authority. 
The program was organised by several water experts, Jilha Jalsaksharta Samiti Pune and was attended by Sumant Pande, Ramakant Bapu, Vinod Bodhankar, Radhika Kulkarni, Charuta Kadurkar and Satish Khade. 

Pranali said, “My sole aim of cycle ride is to spread awareness on water and nature conservation. In my ride I have seen closely the life of adivasi community, rural life, local institutions, meeting the officials from various departments, sourcing information from them and providing them to the people. This is also a ride to see Maharashtra closely. This is my sole venture and not sponsored by any organization or government. I am greatly supported by people I visit in various villages and cities where they offer me food,.shelter and some times money too to survive.” 
Pranali has been riding for the past 8 months and completed 10,000 kms covering 23 districts.
