24 by 7 water supply scheme to be completed by September 2023, informs Uday Samant

Pune: The sessions in the legislative assembly held in Nagpur, had been taking up various issues such as taxes, water and other ingratitude development issues across the state, mainly focusing on the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and Pune Municipal Corporation.

The 24 by 7 water supply scheme which is expected to be completed by 2023 is still pending. Speaking on the completion of work, Industries Minister Uday Samant said, “Out of 82 water tanks work of 44 tanks is completed, and the pending work of tanks will be completed by September 2023,” 
Under the PMC’s 24 by 7 water supply scheme, the water issue is expected to get solve and for which the work is on war footing. However, PMC had decided to construct 82 water tanks of which in five years 44 are completed and 22 are pending. Whereas, the work of 11 tanks has been cancelled due to lack of space availability. ”


However, when MLA Sunil Kamble asked about the JICA Project which will improve the quality of Mula Mutha river and also beautification. 
Minister Samant informed that the work of “JICA” project will also be completed on time under the National River Conservation Scheme by 2025. Under this project construction of 11 sewage treatment plants (total capacity 396 MLD) and 55 kms work will done. The work of laying sewers has begun near Naidu Hospital, Bhairoba Nala, Dhanori and Vadgaon.
He added that survey work required for laying long sewers has been completed. The work of this project is planned to be completed by the end of March.
