Watch Undri residents protesting against unjustified taxes being imposed by Pune Municipal Corporation:

Jayashree Punekar, former member, Undri gram Panchayat said that if the PMC fails to take any action on the issue of unjustified tax being charged to the residents we shall strengthen the strike.

Nivrutti Bandal, Member, Pune District Planning Committee said that if the demands of the residents are not met we shall soon hold chakka jam in Undri.

The residents are demanding that the PMC should bring uniformity in property tax, as the civic body despite taking up three times higher taxes has not delivered any facility. From water, drainage, proper access roads, amenities, PMC has failed to provide any facility to the residents despite being in the municipal corporation since 2019.

In the Legislative Assembly the Deputy chief minister Devendra had recently announced waiver on penalty tax to the property holders of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation jurisdiction. Similar, demand has been raised by the other Municipal Corporation residents. In the last few days MLA Sanjay Jagtap, Rohit Pawar and various political leaders have met the protestors and extended their support.
