29-Year-Old Dies Before Fiancée’s Visit in Gurugram, Sex-Enhancement Drug Overdose Suspected
Overdose concerns have emerged in a tragic case from Gurugram’s Sector 53, where a 29-year-old man was found dead inside his rented PG accommodation, with initial findings pointing toward the excessive consumption of medicines believed to enhance sexual performance.
The deceased, Rohit Lal, was a resident of Nagpur and worked at the Quality Council of India in New Delhi. He had been living alone in a rented flat in Gurugram.
The incident came to light on Thursday morning when Lal failed to respond to repeated phone calls and did not open his room door. A co-worker, who usually traveled with him to the office, grew suspicious and informed the police after being unable to reach him.
Police reached the location and had to break open the locked door. Inside, Lal was found lying motionless on his bed. During the inspection, officers recovered several empty wrappers of medicines and health supplements from the room.
According to preliminary investigation, Lal had invited his fiancée to visit him, but he died before she could arrive. Investigators suspect that he may have consumed a sex-enhancing drug, and a possible overdose could have resulted in a heart attack.
Following the discovery, the body was sent for postmortem and later handed over to the family. Police have also collected viscera samples and seized the medicines for forensic examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Sector 53 SHO Satender Rawal stated that all aspects of the case are under investigation, adding that the final cause of death will be confirmed only after receiving the forensic lab report.
