Bengaluru–Pune Vande Bharat Sleeper: Travel Time Likely to Drop to 13 Hours
Rail travel between Bengaluru and Pune is set for a major upgrade with the upcoming Vande Bharat Sleeper train, expected to significantly cut journey time on this busy route.
According to updates from Indian Railways and the Press Information Bureau, the sleeper version of the Vande Bharat trains aims to modernise long-distance overnight travel. The first such service was introduced in 2020 on the Howrah–Kamakhya route, connecting Kolkata and Guwahati.
The latest development regarding the Mumbai–Bengaluru sleeper corridor was confirmed in a letter dated April 5 by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The announcement gained wider attention after P. C. Mohan, MP from Bengaluru Central, shared it publicly.
