30 mobiles seized & returned to complainants after being traced on Central Govt’s CEIR portal

Pune: After registering and blocking lost mobiles on the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR), a portal launched by the Central Government’s anti-corruption department, if the mobiles are used again, the concerned complainant and the local police station get access to the user’s detailed information, after which the concerned user is traced and the lost mobiles are seized.
Thus, after receiving the information by using the portal a total of 30 mobile phones worth Rs 6,07,000 were seized.
As per information, Vivek Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Circle-1, has returned the 30 mobile phones to their original owners.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Vivek Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Circle-1 & Vishal Hire, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Chinchwad Division Dilip Shinde, Senior Police Inspector, Chinchwad Police Station, Prakash Jadhav, Inspector of Police (Crime), Chinchwad, Sachin Sonpete, Bhagyashree Jamdade, Mohan Varle.
The police have appealed to the citizens that in case the mobile phone is lost, immediately go to the concerned police station and file a complaint about the lost mobile phone on the CEIR portal of the central government. After blocking the mobile phone, if it is reused, as soon as the information is received from the concerned police station, the mobile phone will be seized by the police.
