Purnkuti NGO celebrates 12th anniversary with fervour

Pune: Purnkuti NGO marked its 12th anniversary with great joy on December 20, 2023. The organization, based in Wadgaon Sheri, focuses on empowering children and women from marginalized communities in Pune.

As per information shared by Abhijit Yadav, Programme Manager, Purnkuti NGO, the celebration began with dignitaries adding water to a plant, followed by sharing information about Purnkuti’s social work through a video. Children from the Manosakha Project presented a short play illustrating how the NGO successfully enrolled out-of-school children in formal education.

Certificates were distributed to women in the Dhara Project who had successfully completed courses in beauty parlour, tailoring, MS-CIT etc. Women who completed courses and initiated businesses, improving their financial situations, were honoured.

During the program, parents and women who received badges of honour shared their feelings and expressed gratitude for the organization’s support. A cake was cut to celebrate the NGO’s anniversary. Prashant Kumar, the organization’s trustee, extended best wishes for the future.

The event was anchored by Dr Bharti Sahu and Smita Londhe. Approximately 45 people attended the event. The attendees included the organization’s co-founder Sneha Bharti, Ranjana Madam, Anuja, Mohsin from Rohan Builders’ Corporate Social Responsibility Department, Poornima Gadia from Diksha Foundation, Prashant Kumar, Mohan Prasad, Ashok Kadam, Shruti Dimble, Neha Sinha of Druvan Ray Foundation etc.

Along with women and children, beneficiaries of Purnkuti and the organization’s staff enthusiastically participated in the program.
