38-Year-Old Missing Man’s Body Found in Deep Freezer at Vegetarian Biryani Shop in Lucknow
Shop was closed for four days; police begin probe, await postmortem report
A shocking incident has come to light from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where the body of a 38-year-old man was found inside the freezer of a veg biryani shop that had remained closed for four days.
The deceased has been identified as Vijay Pal, a resident of Kishunpur village in Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT). His body was discovered in a deep freezer located inside a temporary biryani shop situated opposite GCRG College in Lucknow.
Body Found After Shop Reopened
According to police, the shop owner, Ajay, returned to the premises after four days to collect some goods. While checking inside the deep freezer, he found the body and immediately informed the authorities.
Senior police officials stated that the shop was a temporary structure built with tin sheets on three sides and did not have a proper gate. The freezer in which the body was found was disconnected from the electricity supply.
“There are no visible serious injury marks on the body. We are in contact with the family members. The exact cause of death is not yet clear,” a senior officer said.
Identification And Evidence
Police recovered a mobile phone and Aadhaar card from the deceased’s pocket, which helped in identifying him as Vijay Pal. An unusual detail regarding his footwear also emerged during the preliminary investigation. One of his slippers was found near a road corner close to the college, while the other was located inside the shop.
The body has been sent for postmortem, and officials said further details will be known once the report is received.
Investigation Underway
Police are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to determine how and when Vijay Pal entered the shop and when it was last opened. Investigators are probing the case from all possible angles to establish whether foul play was involved or if other circumstances led to the death.
Authorities have informed the family about the incident and assured that the matter is being thoroughly investigated.
