Pune Gears Up For 38th International Marathon: Night Race Begins At 3 AM On December 1

Pune, November 26, 2024: This year’s 38th Pune International Marathon 2024, will start in the early hours of next Sunday, December 1. This marathon promises to be an unforgettable experience for the participating international as well as Indian runners and Punekar spectators. The excitement generated in Pune due to this tournament, the rich cultural heritage of Pune and the passion of Pune people for sports is visible.

This year is the 38th year of this competition. With one or two exceptions like Karona, since 1983 this competition has been organized by the Pune International Marathon Trust every year on the first Sunday of December. The International Marathon (AIIMS) committee has permanently included its marathon in its annual calendar and has earned the distinction of being the oldest “flagship” marathon in India.

The full marathon of 42.195 km will start from Sanas Maidan at 3 am on Brahm Muhurta, followed by the half marathon of 21.0975 km at 6.30 am. 10 km

Also 7th. 5 km race (all races men and women group) and 7.15 am. Races will be run in the order of 3 km wheel chair.

Like every year, thousands of Pune sports enthusiasts are expected to throng the Sanas Ground.

Time will be recorded. Punekars can stand on the race track below and encourage them

Competition Route: The start will be from the inner track at Sans Maidan, turn right via Sarasbagh, Mahalakshmi Chowk, straight through Dandekar Bridge Chowk, Sinhagad Road, Ganesh Mala, Vitthalwadi, Anand Hall, Nanded City Chowk, turn right and go inside Nanded City for 2 km (10 .5 km distance Jan) will complete one lap at Sanas Maidan and take another lap (for full marathon) back through the same route. Other races will be held on the same route, with different turning points from where the runners will return to the Sans Ground to finish the race.

To ensure safety and no inconvenience to the players participating in the competition, enjoyment of the participation

The following facilities are being provided by the coordination committee.

The Medical Arrangements Committee will serve as follows- Dr. Under the chairmanship of Rajendra Jagtap, 150 doctors and 250 nursing, physio staff, 10 ambulances of 108 numbers, 15-bed temporary hospital at Sanas Maidan have been arranged. Doctors, 108 Ambulance m. EMS Nursing staff will take care of the players. The teams of Bharti Nursing College, Sancheti Physio College, Symbiosis Institute, Navle Hospital and Medical College, Vishwaraj Nursing College, Arogyam Medical Team, Navi Mumbai are included.

Sans grounds and drinking water at every km along the entire route,

One doctor and 3 nursing staff, 1 ambulance have been arranged. At every 2.5 km, feeding booths, energy drinks, fruits, sponging (water booths) and all other arrangements have been made as per the rules and conditions of “World Athletics” and Indian Athletics Federation, New Delhi.

The competition route is recognized by AIIMS International Institute.

Runner Dudes, Shiv Sports, Running Punters, Powerful Ultra Runners, Balewadi Runners, PCMC Runners, Vishwa Runners, P.R. South Group,

12 amateur runners organizations in Pune like Nanded City Runners, Abakad Runners etc. have taken the responsibility of managing the hydration points on every km. Their runners will also contribute to the success of the competition by participating in the races. “Arogyam Sanstha” Navi Mumbai will provide their specially prepared energy drink for runners.

Officers from Pune Police Force as well as Traffic Branch Pune and

Constables will maintain security, security and traffic control on the above route from night till the end of the competition like every year.

50 National and International Technical Officials, Judges and Timekeepers of Pune District Amateur Athletics Association will conduct the technical arrangements as per the competition rules. They will be appointed to observe the start and finish line, at the turning points of all races, on the course of the competition and to make interim results.

Electronic timing system will be installed on the entire route for this competition. It will be linked to an electronics chip placed on the back of each runner’s race number, and all athletes will be given their individual timings.

For the last three years, the cycle piloting system along the entire route, until the end of the race, 50 cycle pilots of “Cycloholics” Pune Institute Adv. Samrat Rawate’s leadership down. This year also their team is coming. 10 Motorcycle Pilots from Pune District Amateur Athletics Association will be there as per the rules to guide the runners ahead of the competition.

8 to 10 thousand players from all over the country will participate in this tournament. Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Nepal etc. 70 elite male and female runners from abroad will participate.

Jyoti Gawte, Manisha Joshi, Maharashtra’s international women’s runners, as well as runners from the army and police force will give them a tough fight.

Also “Sharhad Kargil” in Kargil (Ladakh).

Winners of Inter National Marathon 2023 as well as winners of “Sarhad Shauryathon 2024” held at Drass in June 2024 are also participating in this event.

The winning runners of the 38th Pune International Marathon will be awarded trophies made from bamboo by the Bamboo Society of India, symbolizing “sustainability and environmental responsibility” and this year’s mission statement.

The Pune International Marathon has consistently attracted top runners from across the country and abroad. This year’s event will be no exception. His on the flat and fast track of the competition
