Indian cuisine has once again conquered global taste buds, with Butter Garlic Naan, Tikka, and Tandoori securing spots among the world’s top 50 dishes.
Taste Atlas, the renowned online food ranking platform based in Zagreb, Croatia, recently unveiled its highly anticipated list of the ‘100 best dishes in the world’.
The decision was made after sifting through 10,927 catalogued dishes and analyzing 395,205 user ratings, of which 271,819 were considered valid.
TasteAtlas crowned Picanha, as the top dish in the world. It is a Brazilian beef cut celebrated for its flavour and tenderness, making it a cornerstone of traditional Brazilian barbecues.
But that’s not all. The list has Butter Garlic Naan featured under ‘Top 10 Best Dishes’. It was positioned at the 7th rank.
This isn’t the only Indian delicacy to make the cut. Along with the Naan (Indian flat bread), three other Indian dishes have been ranked the best.
Murgh Makhani secures the 43rd spot, while Tikka and the revered Tandoori cooking technique earned ranks 47 and 48, respectively.
Tikka is available in several varieties, both vegetarian (mostly Paneer) and non-vegetarian. Chicken tikka is one of the most loved dishes among Indians. Meanwhile, Tandoori is a non-vegetarian dish made with meat or chicken.
