6 lakh MSEDCL consumers in Pune are yet to pay their power bills

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), in Pune, issued a warning to over 6,60,527 domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers with overdue electricity bills of Rs 133 crore and 37 lakhs.

The power supply of over 2,200 consumers has been discontinued due to non-payment of overdue electricity bills despite repeated appeals. Presently, a total of 2,88,236 electricity consumers have not paid an amount of Rs 46 crore 99 lakhs, with domestic customers leading to Rs 35 crore 37 lakhs of the pending amount.
In Pimpri Chinchwad city alone, 1,38,466 electricity consumers hanot paid an amount of Rs 35 crore 27 lakhs, with domestic customers at Rs 19 crore 12 lakhs. While in the rural areas of Ambegaon, Junnar, Maval, Khed, Mulshi, Velhe, and Haveli talukas, 2,33,825 electricity consumers have not paid over Rs 51 crore 11 lakhs.
MSEDCL has appealed to the electricity consumers to pay the electricity bills to avoid disconnection of the supply.
