Pune : PMC to provide free medicines for Blood Pressure and Diabetes

The Pune Municipal Corporation has received a fund of Rs 43 lakh under the National Urban Health Mission. Hence, the civic body will now provide six types of medicines to the citizens. The decision has been taken in view of rising cases of Diabetes and BP.  A proposal in this regard has been put forth to the standing committee and is now awaiting approval. 

Under this special initiative, PMC will provide three types of medicines for blood pressure patients and three types of medicines for diabetes patients for free of cost. These medicines will be available at PMC run hospitals. The beneficiaries will not be required to submit a card to get the medicines under this initiative. But, the patients will have to produce the reports of high blood pressure and diabetes to get the free medicines.
