Two thieves flee with goods worth nine lakhs

A total of 61 mobile phones were stolen in a span of six minutes from a shop at Raikar nagar in Dhairi area of Sinhagad road at 1 am on Saturday. The shop owner, Sachin Dattatray Sangle, 31, a resident of Pavli chowk, Dhayari filed a complaint at the Sinhagad road police station, which falls under the jurisdiction of Pune city limits.

As per the complaint, two thieves came on a two-wheeler and allegedly stole mobile phone sets and smart watches to a tune of Rs 9.79 lakhs.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, senior police inspector Shailesh SankheSankhe said, “The complainant Sangle has a mobile shop called Sangle Telecom Mobile Hub near Raikar Nagar in Dhayari area. The incident took place on Saturday around 1 am. Two thieves came on a two-wheeler. In a span of six minutes, a total of 61 mobile sets, smart watches and other items were stolen from the shop and taken in one bag. The CCTV footage has captured the incident but the thieves had covered their faces while stealing. The footage from the CCTV in the next shop must also be checked. The suspects had used a two-wheeler to run away. We are investigating the case.”
