Pune : While Navratri is being celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm throughout the country, the Divyang Navratri Mahotsav in Ahmedabad has organized the Garba Fest to inspire and motivate Specially Abled individuals.

According to the News Agency, Vipulbhai, the organizer of Divyang Garba Mahotsav, played Garba along with his friends at the ground about a decade ago when he spotted a disabled person at the venue. He was moved by seeing him and decided that day itself to organize a Garba for Specially Abled people. It has been six years and counting, with approximately 700 differently-abled people in and around Gujarat gathering here to play Garba today.

This event has become a tradition that has been carried on for six years. During the nine-day Navratri festival, devotees engage in the worship of Maa Durga’s nine incarnations to seek her blessings. Each day of Navratri is associated with a specific manifestation of the goddess. People observe ritualistic fasts, recite shlokas dedicated to each goddess, wear new clothes, offer bhog, and clean their homes during these nine days.

Through their prayers, devotees seek the favor of the goddess to lead prosperous, joyful, and fulfilling lives. Over the next nine days, devotees continue to offer their prayers to Goddess Durga and observe their fasts. The festival of Navratri commemorates the victory of good over evil, symbolized by the defeat of the demonic Mahishasura. The 10th day of Sharad Navratri is celebrated as Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami. Ramlila, a dramatic reenactment of Lord Ram’s triumph over Ravana, is extensively organized during Navratri in North India, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.
