A video of shocking incident that had occurred in the Dharavi area of Mumbai, where a five-year-old boy tragically died after getting stuck in a lift, is going viral. The incident took place at the Cozy Shelter building. The deceased boy has been identified as Mohammad Huzeifa Sarfaraz Sheikh.

Mohammad Huzeifa, who lived in Cozy Shelter, was heading home from the ground floor with his seven-year-old sister and three-year-old sister. When the lift reached the fourth floor, his sisters opened the iron gate and the outer wooden safety door and exited the lift. As Huzeifa was stepping out, the lift’s safety door slammed shut towards him. Despite his efforts to push the door, he was unable to stop it. Consequently, Huzeifa got stuck between the iron and wooden doors of the lift, and as the lift ascended, he was crushed and grazed against the wall, resulting in his immediate death. This heart-wrenching incident left the local community in deep sorrow.
According to the police, the incident was captured on CCTV and there was no suspicion of foul play. However, the safety of the lift had come under scrutiny. The police had registered a case and an investigation is underway.
Recently, a similar tragic incident in Pune, a three-year-old girl named Girija Shinde died after a gate fell on her while playing. The CCTV footage of the incident shows the gate falling on her as children were playing and moving their cycles inside. The incident, which took place in Bopkhel area of Pimpri Chinchwad city, has caused widespread shock and concern.
These incidents highlight the critical need for caution. These deeply distressing events serve as a reminder for parents to be vigilant about their children’s safety.
